currently on my fourth attempt to dual boot Bazzite on my Steam Deck.
Is dual booting two Linuxes a bit redundant? Yeah, but I want to kick the tires some before I commit.

ah good it turns out this is not feasible for unexplained reasons

so, thoughts so far on bazzite on deck:
- GNOME is seemingly not particularly touch-friendly, I was kind of hoping it would be moreso than the Deck's default KDE setup
- haven't run into any issues with btrfs home partition (and its lack of case folding) yet (though I've only run like two games directly off it)
- lmao it's very funny having the ability to just load up android
- home partition encryption is a nice thing to have and it technically "works" but there's no on-screen keyboard to unlock the drive -

@ticky hmm doesn't PmOS have an osk for encryption unlocking

@QuadRadical I think yes but it isn’t available in Bazzite yet

@ticky I’m surprised gnome is lacking in touch-friendliness! Their UI design seems made for it

@hailey and yet there doesn't seem to be any way to bring up their dock thing outside of having a mouse or tapping an extremely tiny button. There's also no tutorial for the gestures that do exist? I mean at least window title bars are large, albeit muddied with controls much like latter-day macOS' are

well, I think I’m done with my Bazzite experiment for now. I might try it again once the lack of touch keyboard for unlocking an encrypted home partition is resolved. The Steam keyboard also has some really odd quirks under GNOME (such as appearing *under* password prompts) which make it hard to recommend over KDE, at which point you might as well stick with SteamOS.
